Hi Ch@ser,

this thing looks great at the first moment.
I will try to check this out for me. It can be better than my Audiere or Bass Port...

Thank you...

Hello,

looks very good.

I need Ogg files with Positioning for SFX in a list, and also Oggs for Speech and Music.

I'll try to implement it this weekend, maybe I'll be back with questions later.

Thanks a lot!

Hello,

I started implentig Squallsound now throwing away my exisiting Sound stuff.

First question:
Is there something like ss.Items[0].isPlaying?

To get an info, if the current sound is playing right now?

Thanks,
firle

Okay, much more important:

I have my monster in 3D with X,Y,Z, so I play the ogg:
ss.Items[nindex].Play(SoundVec(x,y,z),false);

The Player has also X,Y,Z but here the rotation is most important!
spl.Position:=SoundVec(x,y,z);
How do get my Y Rotation in it, it is most important?

Thanks,
firle

Well, maybe you need to use Front/Top vectors in SoundSystem?
For monsters you need to use TSoundManager. You can public property in it class (like WalkSound: TSoundManager), then assign to it Sample:
WalkSound.Sample:= ss.Items[hindex]. (eg in create event), and then play and set position of it only. That way you will have personal Channels for all monsters.

Hello Chaser,

I just don't get that positioning working correct.

What do you mean when you say Front/Top Vector?

For monsters only the position, but not their direction is important with X,Y,Z (and Y is the height not so interesting I guess).

But for the player the position and direction must be set somehow to the soundsystem and I cannot find anything for the direction...

Besides that it is working perfect now and really was veryvery easy to implement, thanks!

Thanks a lot,
Firle

SoundSystem.Top - Top direction
SoundSystem.Front - Front direction
So, use them to set direction of listener.

Ive not tesdet in 3D mode, just get experemented.
