Asphyre eXtreme 3.1.0 is out! - 05-Jan-2006, 16:53

We have released a scheduled Asphyre eXtreme Update 3.1.0. Changes and additions are described below:

1) Dynamic texture 2D support added.
2) Using new December 2005 DirectX SDK headers.
3) Improved accuracy of TAsphyreTimer to prevent any unnecessary jumps.
4) Documentation and online help have been updated.
5) Minor additions and bug-fixes.

Several new components are still being developed and couldn't make it into that release. Hopefully, more updates will follow.

Please visit Asphyre eXtreme Section for download information.

I have just downloaded the new version and I get this compile error when I try to compile AsphyrePackage.dpk in Delphi 7.

Code:
[Error] AsphyreScreener.pas(115): Undeclared identifier: 'SetSize'
[Fatal Error] AsphyreReg.pas(22): Could not compile used unit 'AsphyreScreener.pas'
It seems that method SetSize is not implemneted in class TBitmapEx !?

Regards,
Mike

Damn, this method was removed because Delphi 2006 introduced the same method in TBitmap. I'll add conditional compilation and update the package. Thanks!

I've attached the changed file as a quick fix, so you don't have to download the package again.

Edit: I also uploaded package with updated file. If you have further problems, please let me know.

Few updates will still follow as more components will be available. At the moment, TAsphyreScript is being developed, which will allow programming effect and presentation sequences (similar to how Microsoft PowerPoint works).

Does new version of Asphyre includes Sprite Engine? Or it still standalone?

Hmmm, I had a quick look, the SpriteEngine seems to use its own customised versions of...

Asphyre2D.pas
AsphyreCanvas.pas
AsphyreDef.pas

This seems to be creating some version conflicts with AE 3.1.0.

SpriteEngine needs to remove the dependencies with these old units and needs to be made compatable with the new units. If SpriteEngine depends on certain features that are within these units then I am sure the Afterwarp guys would be flexible for better integration within AE.

As it stands just now, its possible that any future upgrades to AE will break SpriteEngine...
